Enough of the Usual-Follow your Dreams!
"If you don't follow your dreams, someone else will hire you to build their dream".
I very much agree with this statement. Let's assume you've graduated from the university, you probably made a first class-wow! Genius or maybe a second class upper. The question is; what next?. Start applying for jobs?. Sending out resumes and writing endless application letters?. If you're tired of doing this, then hold on a second and pay close attention.
There are two kinds of people in this world. The first are those who wait for opportunities to come to them so they can "take them" and they wait endlessly for some magic to happen yet it never comes. They end up in some job doing something they had no intention of doing all because they weren't willing to risk it.
The second are those who find a way to create opportunities for themselves, these are the ones who find a way to create their own "lucks", these are the fortune 500 ceo types. These are the ones who live life on their own terms, they live the life they envisioned. The difference between these two sets of people comes down to this concept of FEAR.
Truth is, the only thing you should fear in life is fear in itself because those who ain't afraid to go after what they want in life are the ones who turn out to be successful. Success often comes as a result of not been afraid to accomplish anything you want to achieve because anything is possible. Most people disregard it and say successful people are there because they were lucky or they were a product of good circumstance.
You are your own driving engine and you are your own brake, meaning that you are the only one who can determine your own fate. We can look at a long list of billionaires who started with absolutely nothing and ultimately got where they wanted to be. Walt Disney, Dangote, David Murdoch, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Oprah Winfrey, John Paul Dejoria, Larry Ellison. All these people started with nothing but eventually built their empires through a gradual process, putting in all they've got.
John Paul Dejoria started John Mitchell hair products with 700 dollars. He went from salon to salon selling his hair products and today he has grown that business into a billion dollar company.
No great person got where they are today without brick walls on the way. It doesn't matter how good your ideas are there will always be dream killers. There will always be those people who say it can't be done and the only one who can prove them right or wrong is you. The only one holding you back is YOURSELF. Hard to chew right?.
In facing any brick wall that comes your way you just have to decide if you're going to get past it or you're going to let it stop you. Those brick walls exist for one reason only; to test how bad you really want something. No endeavour or business was magically produced overnight. It is a result of going past brick wall after brick wall.
I challenge you to just go out and do what you're passionate about. what you believe in. You will be amazed how far you'll go. Successful people are not afraid to create their own opportunities. They know where they are going in this world. They know where they are going to end up. Do you?
Stand Up, Get things Done!
Until next time,
