The Man Who Had Two Faces
Drama as we know it today, originated in ancient Greece a long time ago. I won't bore you with dates, that won't be necessary. I mean why should i, we ain't in some history class or something.
Drama basically means to put up an "act" usually different from original self. More like assuming a counterfeit persona in a 'play', performed by 'actors' on 'stage', in front of an 'audience'. Drama saw the innovation of an actor known as "hypocrite" who impersonates a character rather than speak of his own.
An hypocrites is two faced, always changing. Putting on a false appearance while concealing the real character. Just like in Greek drama, we still find people like this around us today. You might have them as friends. Well, you ain't alone on that one. Hehe.
They are one thing today and tomorrow something absolutely different and this can be very confusing especially when you have to deal with it.
Naturally, we were made to be 'ourselves'. To be 'real' and express our true nature anywhere anytime. I mean a typical 5year old has no one to please and would express themselves anytime. That's one of the reason why we Love children. They are 'pure' and straight forward.
Ralph Emerson said "To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment".
Hypocrisy is so bad that a study showed that the use of condoms increased among college student when hypocrisy is induced after previously lying to have never seen one.
Kudos to people like Fela Anikulapokuti, Muhammed Ali. These people amongst many others, showed that been your true self is indeed priceless. No wonder we still celebrate them today. Most times, people turn hypocrites so they can be accepted or so that people won't tag them 'bad'.
There is no need to be 'two faced'. A peace comes naturally from been YOU. People accept you for who you are, of course some people will hate you but that's not your business. Don't be trapped in Dogma. Accept your uniqueness, accept yourself. There is a uniqueness you bring to the world, don't deny us of it. Dare to be yourself from today, you'll be glad you did.
